Done with work; now to work.

Mm.  Today was such a pain in the butt at work.  I was really about to strangle Martha.  I mean, I love her to death because she’s such a sweet old lady, but I’d rather not think about whether or not she could have been any more grating today than she was.  Thankfully she left at 2 and my last couple hours at work were peaceful.

Had some pizza for dinner tonight while wasting some time transcribing some of the Natural Twenties strips into searchable format, while thinking about how to redesign the admin backend for Aeon RO to make it more like a real web application instead of a bunch of quick-and-dirty tools glued together with snot.

Don’t get me wrong; the tools are very useful even in their current states, I just think they could benefit from being put together in a more cohesive way.  That on top of some code restructuring to make them more efficient by creating shared classes and such that can be reused throughout the various tools instead of having seperate incarnations of each version of their function sets.  It’ll take a while, but I think it’ll be worth it.

All that said, I’m going to do some more work on that last point, and will write more later.  Ta~

And the race is on?

Daily Routine, Inner Thoughts, Miscellaneous No Comments »

Right, so I decided to sit an watch the first presidential debate of the election tonight, and I must say that it was one of the most amusing things I’ve seen in a while.

I’m not really interested in dissecting it or going in-depth about it, because I don’t really enjoy political debates among my peers.  They’re exhausting and to me feel about as useful as a debate about religion; which usually isn’t a good thing.

What I will say, however, is that though I don’t think either one of them was really prepared for it, I feel that Barack did a better job of rolling with the punches that Jim Lehrer was throwing at the two candidates.  Over all, despite the few things that seem a bit wonky in Obama’s policy outlines, I believe that he has a better head on his shoulders and a stronger plan geared more toward helping our country in a timely fashion.  I can’t say that McCain didn’t have his moments where he didn’t sound silly though — he did have a few good ideas.

Beyond all that, there was also the matter of work today.  Worked from 10am to 7pm.  It was rather boring and slow for a friday, at least until around 5 o’clock.  The most interesting thing that happened though was the look that Lynna got on her face when she finally realized that I’m gay.  That only lasted a moment though before everything went back to normal and nobody cared. *snrk*

Other than that, I had to take an early lunch on the presumption that my mom was going to work today, but unfortunately on more than one account, she didn’t go.  Unfortunate that she misses out on the wages for the day, but likewise unfortunate the reason why: apparently, her brother Larry died today.  Nobody seems to know the specifics of it, but what we do know is that he is no longer alive, and it’s unlikely that many, if any, of the family will be attending the funeral since Larry was the only one living in Indianapolis, with mom being the closest relative 4 hours away.

Just one thought for the night, aside from all that above.  I’m really trying to figure out why I seem to have lost most of my interest in going out and doing things.  I used to be all about going out and just doing whatever with friends, but it seems that anymore I’m more inclined to just stay home bored as opposed to going out and feeling somewhat bored and spending money to be that way.  There’s gotta be a good reason why it’s so hard to feel like I’m having fun, or to even feel like I’m capable of having fun.  Actually, I’m rather sure that it’s got plenty to do with me just feeling like I’m a boring person overall, and therefore feel like the act of going out to have fun would be lost on me before even giving it a chance, but I’ve generally always felt that I’m a relatively boring person.  *shrugs*  Oh well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out in time.

Ta for now~

Sometimes…

Inner Thoughts, Miscellaneous No Comments »

Do you ever have those days where just about everything annoys you?  Perhaps to the point of wanting to inflict physical damage upon something or someone?  Yeah, today’s been one of those days, overall.

I don’t really know why, either.  Maybe it has to do with still being achey from being sick yesterday, or maybe it has to do with having a lot of stuff on my mind.  Who knows?  Regardless, I just thought I’d blab about it for a while.

Work was normal for a Wednesday.  Not too busy but not too slow.  The worst part about it was the fact that my muscles and joints were still rather stiff and sore from being sick the day before.  I finally got out of work around 7pm to come home.

Besides all that, I’ve still got the overwhelming urge to blow something up, but no real way to satisfy that urge, so I guess I’ll just have to hold out until I can afford to buy the punching bag I want.  I think it’ll be a really good investment on my part, as it will help relieve stress as well as help me get some much needed excersize.

Anyway, I’ll write more later.  Ta~

Bridgeport is a small town…

Miscellaneous No Comments »

Indeed it is, but interestingly it is also a very loud town.

Well, the show went really well, all things considered.  Granted, I was really, really bored for a good while until Autumn’s On Fire started their set, but it was a really good set.  Thankfully Johnny’s keyboard didn’t brainfart on him like it did last time, and there was a considerably larger crowd this time around.  If you run across this post and you have a myspace account, you should really add them to your friends list.  You’ll be glad you did.

In actuality, I’m writing this post from one of the public computers in the venue, so I’m going to try to keep this short.  We’re going to be leaving here shortly, and who knows where we’ll go from there.

Stay tuned and I’ll keep you updated. Ta~

Work sucks, but so do the off days…

Woof.  Hey there, whomever you may be.

Working for Wal-mart isn’t too bad sometimes.  Other times it’s enough to make you wish you could just fly away.  Friday was somewhere in between.  The fact that it was friday to begin with was a sure sign that it was going to be a tiring day.  Sure enough, it delivered.  Between people in the motor carts screaming about not being helped (largely because we couldn’t see they were even there, which was their own fault since they could have walked if they wanted) and stupid people who couldn’t comprehend the fact that it’s ok to get less than a pound of something at any one time, my brain was rather racked by the end of my shift.

Then, right after I got off work I had to leave to go home, grab some clothes, and take off to fly to Princeton with Garet since he had an appointment with the doctor.  He was late, but oh well.  After leaving from there we went for some dinner at Los Aztecas, then came back to his parent’s place to shower.  After refreshing ourselves and getting on some clean clothes, we ended up going to Heritage Days, a festival going on here in Princeton.  For me, it was actually rather boring.  I didn’t know anyone there, nor did I have any interest in any of the many shop booths.  Granted, it wasn’t all that fun for Garet either, so no big deal.  We went from there to visit his friends at the theatre before coming home.

Now it’s saturday, and I’m off.  However, it’s going to be a long day as well.  Around 2:30 we have to go to Adam’s.  We’re going to have some lunch at Pizza Hut, then go to band practice.  I’m not part of the band, but Garet is.  Also, for anyone that’s wondering, the band is named Autumn’s On Fire.  They’re more of a hardcore/heavy metal band, with a pretty decent sound.  Check out the link to hear some of their stuff or see their schedules shows if you wanna see them live.  After practice tonight, they’re performing at the Friendly Fire Cafe in Bridgeport, IL.  A good time, to be sure, but I’m going to be really tired when it’s all said and done, and I’ll still have to come all the way back to kentucky and do laundry.  YAY! (Bleh.)

That’s all for now I suppose.  I’ll probably update some more after I get home tonight. Ta~
